Why make a donation to my music expenses?
Just like youth sports teams who fundraise or school bands and other fundraising groups there are many costs involved. I take master classes for violin twice a week, a jazz piano lesson, a regular piano lesson and travel to Toronto to the Young Artists Performing Academy, Glenn Gould School of Music. In addition to being driven to all the venues, I am often asked to play at community events and my parents are very proud to support me in these expenses.
However, I am now at the point where I will require a more expensive violin to match my musical ability. This is a fairly substantial cost, and while the previous 5 violins have been paid for by my parents, there will be more violins required in the future.
Why does a 15 year old needs such an expensive instrument?
We have searched for less expensive violins that might work for me. However, long term, I need to focus my attention on practicing and playing my violin, knowing that I have an instrument that will reflect my talent and demands of my music. I will be moving from a ¾ violin to a full size violin within the year and planning now will allow me the time to carefully select a violin that is just right and one that I can I come to love and work with.
Your donation however big or small will help me off-set the cost of buying my next violin and future music expenses such as attending a music University for my future music studies.
Thank you for becoming a part of my dream to become an internationally acclaimed violinist!
